Exercise Keeps You Happy
I've always felt better and happier when I exercise. Maybe it was the fact that the workout released all of my stress or the fact that it felt good to sweat. Turns out I'm not the only one who is happier after exercising.
A study reported in the November issue of Prevention magazine found that people who missed exercise for two weeks in a row became depressed. If they missed exercise for a week their level of fatigue increased. The study was from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Science (which is part of the Department of Defense).
The study suggests that even if you are under the weather or suffered an injury you should find someway to exercise. I know that when I feel a cold coming on, I do aerobic exercise to sweat it out and when I'm too tired to exercise I do a Pilates tape that lets me basically sit on the floor an exercise.
