Nutrients That Stop Food Cravings

While all of us have food cravings it sometimes means that our body is actually seeking out specific nutrients. Dr. Colleen Huber, a Naturopathic Medical Doctor has put together a list.

Here's a sample. If you crave chocolate, what you really need is magnesium which can be found in nuts, seeds, legumes and fruits.

For sweets in general you need:
Chromium -- found in broccoli, grapes, cheese, dried beans, calves liver, chicken
Carbon -- Fresh fruits
Phosphorus -- Chicken, beef, liver, poultry, fish, eggs, dairy, nuts, legumes, grains
Sulfur -- Cranberries, horseradish, cruciferous vegetables, kale, cabbage
Tryptophan -- Cheese, liver, lamb, raisins, sweet potato, spinach
