Can Food Make You Beautiful?
While the pursuit of beauty might not be the most meaningful endeavor, if it helps your mental state to look your best then why not find a natural way to achieve it.
You can eat your way to beauty!
In her book, The Beauty Diet, Lisa Drayer, MA, RD names 10 Beauty Foods:
1) Wild Salmon -- the omega-3 fatty acids can keep the skin's outer layer both soft and smooth, and reduce inflammation that can cause redness, loss of firmness and wrinkles.
2)Blueberries -- don't these seem to make every health list ever! Anyway their anti-oxidant, anti-aging and anti-inflammatory properties help prevent premature aging.
3)Low-fat Yogurt-- the calcium helps build strong nails, hair, posture and even your smile
4)Oysters-- it's the zinc found in oysters that can help with skin renewal and repair, helps scalp, hair and eyes
5)Kiwi-- very high levels of Vitamin C can stimulate collagen synthesis
6)Sweet Potato-- the beta-carotene converts to Vitamin A which helps with smooth skin
7)Spinach -- it's just an all around amazing food that has Vitamin C, different types of Vitamin B, magnesium, iron, calcium, potassium and zinc. You just can't beat this food for nutrition.
8)Tomato -- it contains that favorite anti-oxidant called lycopene
9)Walnuts --Vitamin E, Zinc and omega-3 fatty acids found in walnuts helps smooth skin tone, hair and keeps eyes healthy
10)Dark Chocolate -- of course this is why I even chose this list. It the polyphenols that are powerful antioxidants which let us age gracefully with a big smiles on our faces.
