Eat A Healthy Breakfast -- It's Worth It

Everyone tells you how important it is to first of all eat breakfast and then eat a good one. It's eating a good one that is hard but according to a recent study (Journal of the American Dietetic Association) people who ate breakfast had higher overall intakes of vitamin B6, folic acid, vitamin C, calcium, magnesium, iron, potassium and fiber than people who skipped their morning meal. Those nutrients help protect against a variety of diseases, ranging from heart disease to osteoporosis.

In an article in Cooking Light, posted on CNN, a sample breakfast was given: An orange, a cup of skim milk (or 12-ounce skim latte), and a whole wheat English muffin spread with a tablespoon of peanut butter, supplies 42% of the Daily Value (DV) for heart-healthy fiber, 49% DV of bone-building calcium, and 163% DV of immune-boosting vitamin C.

I would add to this an egg or two. My holistic MD, David Brownstein highly recommends a daily egg (and in fact eats then himself).
