Walking On Cobblestones Lowers Blood Pressure
I thought I had hear of everything.... Turns out that a study done by the Oregon Research Institute showed that people over 60 who walk on smooth rounded cobblestones for half hour daily, lowered their blood pressure.
Why would this work? Well if you are familiar with reflexology you know that there are certain acupressure points located on the foot that correspond with certain organs. By walking on these uneven surfaces these points are stimulated.
For many years I have done a mini-foot massage before I go to be in the hope that I am hitting as many pressure points as possible. There are great charts that show where you need to massage for whatever ails you, but I do this preventivly. I also find it very relaxing and if you use almond massage oil you are also adding anti-oxidants to your system as the skin absorbs the oil quickly.
