Day 5 in 5 Steps to Natural Health
1) Nutrition:Time to change your lettuce. Iceberg has no redeeming nutritional qualities. Try Romaine or spring mix or other greens. You get used to the taste and the vitamins are abundant.
2) Exercise: Tai Chi is a wonderful form of meditative exercise. A class is the best way to learn but there are tapes you can use. This fluid movement offers some of the benefits of yoga and for those of us who find it hard to stay in poses, Tai Chi involves constant movement, but at a very slow relaxing pace.
3) Stress Reduction: A body scan meditation can be done prior to bedtime. In a relaxed state imagine a white light entering through your head and feel it go through all parts of your body. Focus your mind on each part as the light flows through it. After practice you can actually feel the energy in your fingertips. It's a great way to focus your mind on your body in a quiet state. You'll feel cleansed, refreshed and energized after this 5-10 minute exercise.
4) Home Remedies: To ease cold symptoms grate fresh ginger into warm water. Steep 5-10 minutes. Add lemon, honey and cayenne pepper before you drink. This heats up and flushes out your system.
5) Outlook on Life: I often tell my children that they are here for a purpose. It might take an entire life to discover that purpose but each life is very important and has meaning.
