Brain Food
You can't pick up a magazine, listen to the radio or watch TV and not see a new study on how food can either keep us healthy or treat specific ailments. Most holistic practioneers will tell you that what you put into your body will determine how well it functions. Give it the proper nutrition and your body will be able to ward off many ailments.
Prevention, however is the smartest course. To keep your brain operating at its best and help it resist diseases such as Alzheimer’s eat the following foods:
Herring, salmon, tuna, sardines
Apples (Gala and Granny Smith), apricots, baked beans, broccoli, cherries, cucumbers, eggplant, grapes, fruit juices (natural), olives, oranges, peaches, pineapple, plums, raisins, strawberries, tea, tomato and wine.
If you think about it you could have salmon for lunch, a glass of wine and make a huge salad with many of the other ingredients. For snacks during the day you could eat a mixture of some of these fruits dried. (Just make sure you buy organic fruit and vegetables and watch that commercial fruit mixes don't have any extra ingredients as preservatives.)
