Day 2 In 5 Steps to Natural Living
For the rest of this week, I'll give you ideas for each of the 5 steps. Next week I'll include other practices and information about natural living.
1) Nutrition -- One day this week eat broccoli. I know it sounds like something your grandmother would say ( and it turns out she was right much of the time), but broccoli actually opens up your airways and is great in the fall to help fight allergies.
2) Exercise -- Take a walk in your local Metropark. It's amazing but nature comes complete with hills and a variety of terrain, so you won't have to do a thing to get a good workout but follow any path you'd like. The fresh air is a wonderful bonus.
3) Stress Reduction -- Try a simple meditation. Right before you fall asleep take a deep breath, push the air into your stomach as you inhale and bring the air up into your chest. Hold for a count of 8 and then let the breath out. Do this around 8 times and your whole system will be relaxed and your mind will clear.
4) Home Remedies -- At the beginning of a sore throat eat either garlic cloves or onions. You can use either of them in your meals, but for garlic cut the cloves and let them sit exposed the air for 10 minutes as that starts the medicinal process. If you are worried about odor just eat fresh parsley afterwards, it eliminates the garlic aroma.
5) Outlook on Life -- Go outside and look at the stars. It's a good reminder that you are not in fact the center of the universe. Enjoy the life you were given.
