A TransFat Headline?

As I was driving into work this morning, I was very surprised to read a headline that was streaming across the marquee in my city's arts section. Usually the headlines are political or tragic events, but today's said -- NYC Considers Ban on TransFat.

I couldn't believe it. I can believe that NYC is thinking about it, being a progressive city that addressed the issue of smoking ahead of the rest of the country, but the fact that it is headline news.

It's so heartening to know that people are now making the connection that what we eat affects our health. We admit that by avoiding certain food we can prevent illness. But I'd like to see us choosing to eat foods from a more positive angle. Let's provide our bodies with the fuel that it needs to run in the most efficient manner possible. Let's give it top grade nutrients. And let's eat to keep ourselves happy.

I can't wait until we are at a point where the headline reads -- NYC Sprays Lavender Across City To Increase Happiness.
