Let's Take A New Look At Food
While I will be the first person to tell you which food you should eat to treat your ailments or increase your energy or improve your mood, I wonder if we are really looking at all of this backwards. We are looking to food to get us out of our various quandaries but I'd argue that instead we should be looking at food as making us healthy in the first place so we don't have all of these issues.
Study after study tells us if we eat a certain food it will decrease our rate of getting certain sicknesses. But my holistic doctors would argue that if you ate the right foods in the right amounts your body would be essentially healthy. Instead we pour junk into our system, clog it up with things our body can't digest so it just sits rotting in our system and eventually it makes us sick. Then we go looking for what to eat to rid of the symptoms.
We should be eating healthy as a matter of course. Whether it's 5 smaller meals as is recommended by some nutritionists or the regular 3 meals. If we include a variety of fruits and vegetables (organic) with different sources of protein and healthy carbs, all in moderation our body will respond by using this correct fuel to operate our organs and systems in the manner they are designed to work.
It would be so much easier to find the joy of food again instead of looking for certain foods to correct our bad habits.
