The Joy of Family
Reading that headline, one might suspect sarcasm, but in my case it's not.
This past weekend was the New Year in my religion so my family got together. We are a lively bunch that really enjoys each other and spends most of our time laughing.
One of my little cousins, who is now grown up and runs a successful medical practice with his wife, said that some of his happiest memories of his childhood was sitting on the same couch at my parent's house and laughing as a kid. He said this as my children and nieces were all rolling around on the floor and laughing. My cousin and I remembered when we were doing the same.
My children too have the same fond feeling of having holidays at my parent's and it's such a nice tradition. It's a good feeling that goes deep into the soul.
And what's more my family seems able to spread that joy as this holiday we welcomed a new member to the family and he was accepted with open arms, love and laughter.
