Sunburn? Head Straight To The Kitchen
To ease the itchiness: Wrap dry oatmeal in a piece of cheescloth and run cool water through it. Wring it out and place directly on the sunburn.
To reduce redness: Take a washcloth and soak with buttermilk and place on red spots for 20 mintues at a time. Rinse off your skin and you can repeat this in 2 hours.
For eyelids: Soak two teabags in cold water. Use black or green tea. Squeeze out the water and place on your eyelids.
For pain: Into a bathtup of tepid water pour 1/4 cup of baking soda or cornstarch and then jump in.
For those you who think I learned all of this from my grandmother... my actual source was The University of Arizona's Program for Integrative Medicine. This program educates doctors on a variety of medical options and is the creation of Dr. Andrew Weil.
